Now that all the holiday decorations are packed away for another year and my various stashes are organized and sorted through, I decided I needed to make some decorations to put through the house for Valentine's Day. I love decorating for the various holidays. After our fire, the smaller holidays, have been very neglected. I haven't worked as hard to refurbish our Valentine supplies.
I pulled out a bunch of stuff and then started in.
I just used a half a heart shell and a Victorian scrap and a rose and gold leaf garland for this.
These plain sparkly hearts got some Victorian scraps as well
and some pretty lace.
This feather heart wreath got some little white feathers and then I pulled out a lot of my little heart jewelry pieces and added those along with some loops of white pearls.
This little cupid cutie is made from a heart shaped candy tin, a clear candlestick for a base
and an old orphan doll head. I took light weight cardboard and cut out wing shapes
and hot glued white feathers and pieces of white and gold boa to them.
I attached wire to the wings and the wire is looped around the dolls neck.
I used a heavy duty adhesive to attach the wings to the back of the candy tin heart.
I used wire for arms/hands to hold the dowel stick arrow. I had some sculpey hearts I attached to the arrow end and a decorated heart and feathers to the opposite end. I printed out "TRUE LOVE" and glued that to cardboard before I glued it to the dowel stick. easy peasy!!

Catie, I love those sparkly hearts . . . I actually have one or two in my sewing box I found the other day...looks like I might give it a go!
It all looks so wonderful. I have neglected Valentines day lately. Last year I made some pretty paper hearts from scrapbook paper and then never put them out! Weirdo. I think I will give it another go this year ;-)
Peace~

I'm having a sick day...got a bug...so I'm catching up on blog reading. You are ahead of me by having Christmas put away. My tree is down, but ornaments still sit unpacked.
LOVE Antiseptic Annie...just her name sounds like she should be my best friend! LOL
Thanks for your comment. Hope you get to see your kidlets as planned.
It's fun to create with so many different elements. Your garland is lovely. I would like to make some cards, but my scrapbooking supplies are all over the place. I really need to get organized. Have a great day. Tammy
Very pretty valentine's! Love your ideas.
Thanks for stopping by! It's great to meet you! I love your projects. I think I like doing valentine projects maybe more than other holidays. I love doilies, so I'm going to try your idea. Seems that I can't resist a pack of doilies if they are unusual or, better, cheap! I'll be posting more valentines soon.
I am from GYB event. What pretty Valentines decorations. So fun and festive!
And what a lovely blog.
Thanks for visiting my blog! We have some things in common...my hubby also calls me katieann! The GYB party has been fun and meeting new bloggers has been great. Thank you for sharing some things about yourself and I'm sorry you have had so many medical issues along with surviving a horrible house fire. Thanks again for visiting me!
